ADIDAS ORIGINALS BY WALES BONNER: A DIALOGUE BETWEEN PAST AND PRESENT
WITH A FOCUS ON CRAFTSMANSHIP AND ELEGANCE, THE ICONIC TREFOIL IS REBORN IN THE LATEST INSTALMENT FROM ADIDAS ORIGINALS BY WALES BONNER.
Since the very first drop, the partnership between Wales Bonner and adidas Originals has had a metamorphic impact on sportswear, taking everyday wear through an artful and multidisciplinary design process until it becomes something extraordinary.
Continuing their ongoing collaboration for another season, the two brands look to Jamaica to reimagine archival adidas classics; punctuating the spring/summer 23 collection with thrums of black, green and gold, and partnering with the Jamaican Football Federation for the first time.
With the adidas archive at its foundation, the spring/summer 23 collection redefines vintage silhouettes with refreshing material compositions and considered colour palettes. The resultant capsule comprises a striking silver anorak with matching shorts, a rich brown towelling shorts set and sports socks in vibrant yellow and mint.
For the footwear, the iconic WB Samba returns in two distinct offerings: one in a neutral nubuck upper with tonal leather stripes, the other arriving in resplendent silver leather and contrasting crochet stripes. Infusing Jamaican reference points, the WB SL72 Knit is recontextualized with a knitted upper that pays homage to the nation’s flag and national football team.
Marked by the iconic Trefoil logo that was first used in 1972, adidas originals by Wales Bonner’s spring/summer 23 collection is a modern retelling of instantly recognisable retro forms through a lens of Carribean sensibility.
