STORE MIX 100 NEW GEN: TASH LC

CHAMPIONED BY INFLUENTIAL FIGURES IN DANCE MUSIC, COUPLED WITH HER NATURAL ABILITY TO CAPTIVATE A CROWD, TASH LC MAKES HER MARK AS ONE OF THE UK'S MOST EXCITING EMERGING TALENTS.

Born and raised in South London, Tash LC is a radio host, DJ and music collector. The new-gen talent bridges cultures with her energetic fusion of global sounds, bringing sounds, like the Angolan dance music of Kuduro, into the future. She was recently quoted in an interview describing how this genre of music makes her feel, “Certain sounds just make you move. Like a kind of inner body calling that can’t be fought or resisted. A connection between beat and body that is loud, urgent and unexplainable. It calls at you and you have no choice but to answer immediately” — for Tash, sound, rhythm and beats truly are a form of self-expression.

Tash LC is the third artist in our line-up of talents to curate an exclusive set in honour of LN-CC’s 100th Store Mix. These exclusive sounds and rhythms are released alongside two limited edition LN-CC X Space Available T-shirts and tote bag featuring the names of each DJ taking part.

In little time, Tash LC has made her mark on the airways with her residencies at BBC 1Xtra, Kiss FM, Worldwide FM, NTS Radio and Movement Athens, effortlessly fusing Afro-jazz and highlife broadcasts. She also runs a record label, Club Yeke, which has released music from South Africa, Portugal, Jamaica, the USA and the UK. With an innate passion for connecting sounds old and new, and tracing lineage and roots through to the music of today, she has the natural ability to seamlessly shift familiar rhythms into vibrant mixes of Kuduro, Gqom, and lesser-known club beats.

Being a female DJ in the industry, another feat in its own right, she’s become a face many young women look up to. Blending underground electronic sounds that span the globe from Europe to Africa into her melodic remedies, Tash LC cultivates a distinctive sound of her own, exclusively for LN-CC.
