Launched in 2013 by Luke Meier and Arnaud Faeh, OAMC brings together functionality and modern construction techniques to create forward-thinking premium menswear. Made in limited quantity runs in Italy, France, Portugal and Japan, the emphasis is on high quality, technical fabrics to maximise innovation and construction technology to introduce new evolutions in contemporary menswear. Referencing the traditional, OAMC modernises classic silhouettes with fabric advancements and luxurious materials to forge an elevated workwear inspired aesthetic.
The meaning of OAMC this AW15 season is ‘Olympic Alpine Mountain Club’ exploring spiritualism and evolution in the high alpine environment. Inspired by the Alps and Coastal Mountains in Canada, the collection references Darwin imagery and snow leopards with spiritual icons such as crosses to convey the dichotomy between the two. The collection features traditional and innovative construction with a focus on handwork, bonding and welding whilst fabrics include technical layered nylons and fine Italian wools to ensure enhanced performance and practicality. Continuing to work with utilitarian forms, silhouettes are functional featuring climbing harness shapes whilst elevated detailing demonstrates a modern interpretation of elegant mountainwear with a modern aesthetic.
