VAVA eyewear takes its inspiration from the post-industrialist world and the growing Techno movement which emerged as a significant step for the rebirth of cities like Detroit and Berlin during the 80’s. For founder, Pedro da Silva, this sense of idealism is both conceptual and practical; using high-quality artisanal materials and techniques including Mazzucchelli cellulose acetate frames and Barberini crystal lenses to forge his visionary glasses. Handmade in a family-run Italian factory, VAVA eyewear represents ‘deceleration, purism and metaphysics’ through its contemporary and futuristic aesthetic. The M49 eco-friendly line crafts frames from biodegradable cellulose acetate produced from cotton and wood-pulp fibres as well as 100% recyclable glass lenses and aluminium hinges. Influenced by Bauhaus and graphic minimalism, VAVA creates lightweight, conceptual sunglasses crafted from renewable sources.
