- MUTANT VISION
In the first of our editorials for SS17 we play with focus and details to offer our take on new season arrivals and the key menswear brands just in. Moving from the washed out jerseys and detailed sports stripes and flared ‘60s inspired shirting of Wales Bonner to the utilitarian detailing of Acne Studios with elasticated cuffs, canvas fabrication and shiny central zippers, silhouettes are relaxed and inspired by sportswear and shirting over numerous decades early on in the season. Thom Browne continues to reformulate men’s tailoring codes in adjusted shirts whilst Stella McCartney is bold in its first season with exaggerated embroidery and focal knits adding energy to timeless pieces. For Marni seams are ruched, cotton crinkled and formal shirting stamped with bold graphics, finishing a mutating aesthetic that is easy to wear and relaxed with nostalgia.
