The first pieces from James Long's Spring 2012 collection have now arrived at LN-CC. The London- based designer brings a bold, youthful dimension to our offerings for this season, something that is particularly obvious in his sequinned pieces. Both a dress and jacket are completely covered in hundreds of brightly coloured sequins, whilst a shimmering, biker-style jacket is emblazoned across the shoulders and lapels. Elsewhere, the sequins are used to slightly subtler effect on a number of sheer, silk tops.
Damir Doma SS12 mens feature is now live in the features section... The execution of texture and subtle contrast is phenomenal in this seasons collection.
The Design Museum’s Design Awards is now exhibiting in London. Here are some images of the LN- CC installation designed by Gary Card. The installation represents the store's skeletal space - the tunnel which runs through the store. Inside the installation a virtual walk through of the LN-CC store plays alongside music produced specifically for this installation.
LN-CC "LATE NIGHT CHAMELEON CAFE" has been nominated for The Design Museum "Design of the year 2012" award.
The Design Museum’s Design Awards, ‘the Oscars of the design world’, showcase the most innovative and progressive designs from around the world, spanning seven categories: Architecture, Digital, Fashion, Furniture, Graphics, Product and Transport. A high profile judging panel will decide the best entries in each of the seven categories. Category award winners and the overall winner of the Design of the Year Award 2012 will be announced at an Awards event in April 2012.
The first pieces from our selection of Martin Margiela's Spring 2012 collection are now available at LN-CC. This season, we have focussed on the more understated pieces on offer, showcasing Margiela's take on some classic menswear silhouettes. A range of perfectly executed, tailored jackets and trousers form the focal point of this delivery, with a varied selection of knitwear crafted from lightweight cottons ideally suited to the spring / summer months.
Haerfest are a design duo from New York who focus exclusively on producing premium bags and luggage. Using only the highest quality materials, balanced proportions and a close attention to detail, each end product features an understated, modern sensibility. We just received seven pairs of Ann Demeulemeester’s men’s footwear for Spring/Summer 2012. Amongst other styles, we have the Scamosciato Eyelet Sneakers in cream and black leather and the Scamosciato Eyelet High Top Sneakers in black leather available.
In addition to managing the sound systems for some of London's finest underground parties over the last 25 years, Mickey Boyle looks after our own system in the LN-CC store. Mickey is also a great DJ, with an incredible in-depth knowledge of dub, reggae, soul, house and more. He joined us for this two part mix at the tail end of 2011.
For the series ‘J_Subs’, Oliver Sieber photographed Japanese youths in the aftermath of concerts in Osaka and Tokyo. The subjects in their rock’n’roll and punk outfits perfectly exemplify Sieber’s interest in the way that youth subcultures seek out individuality and identity through a rebellion against traditional values.
We just received a new delivery of beaded skulls from Our Exquisite Corpse. Catherine Martin, founder of Our Exquisite Corpse, worked with the Huichol people of Mexico to create these beaded skulls. Each beautifully patterned and brightly coloured skull features intricate craftsmanship and are uniquely different from one another.
Athens-based DJ and photographer Chris Kontos' deep and introspective DJ mixes are the perfect soundtrack to a "Mediterranean paradise". Kontos has provided LN-CC with two fantastic mixes, for both the live mix series and the st ore mix series. On a recent visit to the LN- CC store, we spoke to Chris about his mixes and also asked him to select some personal highlights from his collection of Greek Music.
