Saskia Diez women’s Papier 135g bag from S/S 11 collection in light grey.

This 135g light bag is made of DuPont™Tyvek®, a synthetic paper that is extremely light but at the same time robust. A silk- screen printing technique was used on the surface of the material to achieve the light grey colour. The bag features two handles and is closable with a grey zip. It is waterproof, recyclable and tearproof.

A collaborative project between Saskia and Stefan Diez, the “Papier” series is an experiment in revising the classical typology: the two designers have pointed out the basic requirements to a travel bag – durability, protection and light weight – and sought for an appropriate material other than the traditional choices of leather and reinforced textiles. "Papier" won the German Designpreis 2010.

素材には DuPont™Tyvek® の合成紙を使用、極めて軽量で、同時に頑丈でもあります。マテリアルの表面には、ライトグレーに近づけるためシルクスクリーンプリントを採用しています。2つの持ち手、グレージップのディテール、また、リサイクル可能、ウォータープルーフ加工が施されています。

Saskia と Stefan Diez によるコラボレーションプロジェクト “Papier” シリーズは、クラシックな印刷学を見直す実験として行われています。2人のデザイナーは、トラベルバッグに対するベーシックな要求‐耐久性、保護、軽量‐を指摘しています。そして、レザーや補強されたテキスタイル以外の適したマテリアルを探し求めていました。 “Papier” は German Designpreis 2010で賞を取っています。
