Oliver Sieber | J_Subs

For the series ‘J_Subs’, Oliver Sieber photographed Japanese youths in the aftermath of concerts in Osaka and Tokyo. The subjects in their rock’n’roll and punk outfits perfectly exemplify Sieber’s interest in the way that youth subcultures seek out individuality and identity through a rebellion against traditional values.

Sieber was recently included as one of ten artists in the Silverstein Photography Annual and is known for photographing a diverse spectrum of pop-cultural niches – from teds in Germany to rockabilly fans in Japan. Each book comes wrapped in a protective plastic sleeve with a numbered cardboard backing.
