Renzo Rosso’s Diesel has denim at its heart, applying jean tropes to sneakers, leggings and T-Shirts with a heavy dose of irony. Under the leadership of Bruges-born Glenn Martens, the rebooted label amplifies the sex appeal and wit that echoed through Diesel’s iconic campaigns. While Martens continues to transform the familiar into the unexpected for Y/Project, the former Gaultier Junior designer brings a twisted energy to Diesel, distorting jersey, knits, shoes and more with denim washes, unexpected belt loops and coin pockets, and the ever-present ‘D’ plaque.
