Year of the Pig is the new calendar poster by five female artists; Claire Barrow, Eloise Parry, PZ Opassuksatit, Kiyoko Odo and Anne Sophie Costa.
The Pig is the twelfth of the 12-year cycle of animals which appear in the Chinese zodiac associated with the Chinese calendar; it signifies fortune and good luck. The artwork finds inspiration from the Zodiac signs rather than the traditional format, and it also tells you your lucky number, lucky colour and includes some crucial dates such as; when Mercury is in retrograde and when there's a full moon.
Multi-disciplinary artist Claire Barrow produced twelve pairs of earrings using a combination of integrative techniques employing a mix of materials from clay, plastic, wire, feathers and fabric. The hair was created by Kiyoki Odo, make-up by Anne Sophie Costa and photography by Eloise Parry. The calendar was designed by the visual artist PZ Opassuksatit applying original hand-drawn notes from Barrow.
