Crafted in Perugia, Italy, Marvielab is a label encompassing different ongoing clothing projects. Seven projects have been developed so far, each of which interprets certain pieces of clothing through their considered concept. By deconstructing and re-arranging classic items, the label continues to study form and functionality through their essential designs in trans-seasonal materials. The label explores the relationship between wearer and garment, the garment is seen as a variable element and the wearer as a changeable form.
The U/U/U – Unconstrained/Unisex/Uniform collection binds to the idea of ‘Aware Dressing’, one of the keystones of Marvielab philosophy. Taking a group of students selected for their differing attitudes and tastes, Marvielab requested that they each provide a personal interpretation of the basic concept ‘uniform’ in order to view their understanding of it in relation to their own needs and feelings and thus create individually considered garments. Composed of two/three pieces and varying in design and function, the basic uniform models can be mixed, adapted, customised and accessorised to the taste of each customer. Developed in four different sizes, each minimal form has unisex fit and is constructed from seasonal fabrics in three different weights; light, medium, heavy. Bearing the name of the student who designed it, every piece is represented by a photo with its caption. The profound AW15 collection offers uniquely personal garments with a functional and transitional aesthetic.
