Earlier this year, LN-CC approached The Modern House to collaborate on a series of editorial shoots that united our like-minded disruptive worlds. Beyond selling Britain's finest modern and contemporary architecture, the self-described “accidental estate agents” have redefined the art of selling homes, cultivated architecture Insta obsessions and established itself as one of our – and no doubt yours too – go-to design brands.
The collaborative idea was simple: place LN-CC’s exciting edit of new season luxury fashion inside some of The Modern House’s most suitable listings. As soon as The Modern House team shared the preview of the Invisible House, the collaboration had found its temporary home. And what a home. “This extraordinary contemporary house in Warwickshire was conceived and designed by the current owner, Steve Smith, who worked alongside BPN Architects to explore reflection as an organising principle,” the listing reads. Set on a secluded plot, surrounded by nature and wrapped in smoked mirrored glass panels, the sensory-stirring property provides an otherworldly reason to dress up. Who lives in a house like this? LN-CC’s finest should…
Within the Invisible House’s highly conceptual, unconventional and ambitious design, each pavilion-designed room gives the illusion that they are floating, while the smoked mirrors reflect the surrounding environment to further blur the boundary between the building and landscape. Similarly, the best of autumn/winter 22 fashion delights in the dualites of fantasy and reality, revealed and hidden, the everyday and the elevated, the familiar and the otherworldly, so the Invisible House was the perfect setting. As LN-CC showcases its core DNA and highlights the key autumn/winter 22 trends of layering, cargos, fake fur and balaclavas, the Invisible House playfully reflects and refracts, reveals and shields.
From duvet replacement puffers to coated trenches and faux fur-sleeved coats, balaclavas that conceal, cut-outs that reveal and lace that teases, this season’s hottest houses and most exciting design minds encourage you to experiment with layering. Wrap yourself in protection, collage comfort, team-up trends, shake-up the senses and challenge conventions.
The architecture brought us here and our OUTLOOK fashion edit made us feel that we belonged. As the worlds of architecture, interior design and fashion collide and coalesce, this partnership with The Modern House is a reminder that extraordinary design, whatever the medium, has transformative power. While we all can’t live in a space like the Invisible House, we can dress like we belong in its imagination-igniting, possibility-pushing, elevated-everyday world.
