IN FOCUS: HELMUT LANG S/S 18
Founded in 1986, The Helmut Lang brand, famous for its luxe minimalist aesthetic, exists today minus the namesake at the creative helm. This season sees the label’s first-ever editor in residence, Isabella Burley, adopting Lang’s original, austere, intellectual and iconic designs. Burley selected Hood By Air founder Shayne Oliver, as the label’s first guest designer. Oliver resurrected ideas from Lang’s original archive. He wanted to bring back the “sensuality” of Lang’s work remixed with deconstruction and bondage combined with Lang’s legendary visual language. Oliver described his collection as “a show where the past and the future could connect”.
