Stain Shade is driven by passion and a love of upcycling, born out of founder James Brackenbury’s frustration with not being able to find high-quality tie-dyed items in the UK. Taking matters into his own hands, Brackenbury began experimenting with 90’s inspired hand-dyeing techniques in the backyard of his South London home, where the one-of-a-kind pieces are still bleached and tie-dyed today
The latest capsule collection gives new life to Carhartt garments, the old-school American apparel company founded in 1889 which today is remembered for its workwear, durable fabrications and utilitarian forms. The Americana vintage pieces were once designed to stand the test of time; Brackenbury re-uses and recycles these garments, injecting colour and soul to create stand out pieces of the highest quality. Each garment, whilst similar, has individual features - no two pieces are alike.
