"RIGARDS is comprised of two collections: Genuine Horn and Metalloid. Artisanally crafted by hand, horn frames are expertly constructed from sustainably-sourced domesticated herds whilst all production wasted is used as fertiliser. The Metalloid collection crafts frames from pure, recyclable aluminium that can be down-cycled repeatedly without any loss of quality. In our design and production processes, we are always consciously looking at where reinvigorating tradition and environmental thinking may intersect. Our natural horn frames generate minimal ecological footprint as our master artisans use only traditional non-high-tech hand tools and their skill set to make them. The only element of carbon footprint is the transportation from us to you. Working with hand tools means we avoid the use of pre-set routing and heat-forming/embedding machines, allowing us to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and decrease our carbon footprint. All of our actions are oriented towards eco-sustainability in contemporary eyewear design. ." -- Ti Kwa and Jean-Marc Virard
