Nick Mackrory and Phil Banks - Jaipur Palace
Welcome aboard then Forgotten Corner Records. Named after the enchanting, mystical and often forgotten about part of Cornwall where the label is based. Jaipur Palace is a seriously mesmerising mid-tempo chugger, marinated in intoxicating Indian spices and best unleashed in strobe-lit, dirty basements. With its Eastern flavours and tripped-out, psychedelic atmospherics reminiscent of early Tranglobal Underground and the wave of late 80s / early 90s cosmic house. On the flip, Black Merlin provides a stunning rework, taking the track to EBM influenced heights and adding all manner of twisted effects, vocal chants and a fat electroid bassline.
