CRAFT IN MOTION 

The journey of Bottega Veneta continues. Embracing the joy of self-expression through clothes and accessories and the freedom of being whoever and whatever you want to be, Creative Director Matthieu Blazy delves into the exploration of imagination and reality. Encompassing an array of influences from all over the world, there is a global sweep to craft in motion this season. 

Taking inspiration from the notions of dislocation and travel, we see the apotheosis of the travel trinket exist in meticulously crafted accessories. Artfully captured in the LN-CC store, playful interplays of light and shadow form a colour palette of earthy browns, lush greens and soft pastels – setting the stage for a line-up of distinctive handbags that are core to Bottega Veneta, each imbued with its House codes. 

The Andiamo, which translates to "Let's go" in Italian, embodies the spirit of wanderlust. Crafted from supple lambskin in a timeless silhouette of hand-woven Intrecciato, Andiamo is defined by sliding braided straps with a gold-tone metal knot fastener – allowing for flexible wear over the shoulder or across the body. 

Expressing versatility and craft expertise, the House’s large Hop shoulder bag is formed from a supple geometric silhouette – designed to be appreciated from all angles. Intended to fit comfortably to the wearer's body, tucked under the arm, the bag’s corners almost appear softly creased like a handkerchief. Oversized yet delicate, its seamless construction is realised by one artisan over two days. 

Rendered in soft calfskin leather with Intrecciato craftsmanship, the Wallace handbag captures the essence of Bottega Veneta's timeless elegance. Characterised by a flat-top handle, the construction is supple yet slouchy, protected by metal feet. Created with one main compartment that’s lined with matching sumptuous leather, the mini bag offers both style and functionality. 

Directly translating in English to “Twins”, the Gemelli comprises two crescent compartments and a detachable strap to create duality, volume and unison – shapeshifting into three silhouettes. It balances the line between an oversized slouchy tote and a structured shoulder bag, finding a perfect middle ground between sizes. 

Named after the shape of its moulded top handle, the Sardine evokes the refinement of modernist sculpture. The handle showcases markings and nuances that add a layer of sophistication, while the bag’s body is shaped to a soft half-moon realised in the House’s signature Intrecciato craft.
