Junior Boys member Jeremy Greenspan made a fine debut on Jiaolong earlier this year, reworking Laurie Spiegel's 'Drums' into a cacophony of kick drums and pulsating analogue arpeggios so it makes complete sense for Dan Snaith to invite the Canadian back for a full release. Pairing up with the unheralded Borys, this four track God Told Me EP clearly demonstrates that Greenspan is enjoying the creative freedom Jiaolong allows him, commencing in devilish fashion with the title track. Casting aside any intentions of subtlety, 'God Told Me to' rips along in high octane fashion driven by a thunderous arpeggiated lead synth whilst 'Saint Hood' conjures the spirit of our Metal Dance forbearers for some twisted proto techno. 'The Devil's Punch Bowl' sounds just as much like a Bleaching Agent track as the title suggests whilst 'Stylite' offers some electronically charged respite with a little bit of help from Christina Sealy.
