MONCLER X PALM ANGELS: DEFYING GRAVITY

Francesco Ragazzi has always let his imagination run free, following a winding path of creativity across art direction, photography, LA skate culture, a global streetwear brand and a longstanding partnership with heritage label Moncler. A central force of Moncler Genius since the platform’s inception, the Moncler x Palm Angels collections play with puffy volumes and soft textures to express libertine values of freedom, individuality and lightness. It is Palm Angels’ creative effervescence that co-hosted an immersive foam party with London’s Boiler Room to celebrate the launch of The Art of Genius and set the tone for this year’s collection; a classic varsity sports-inspired story interpreted through the distinctive Palm Angels filter. 

The gender-neutral capsule arrives as a continued exploration of Ragazzi’s passion for 90s vintage and Americana archetypes: the polo shirt becomes oversized and padded in homage to a duvet, puffer jackets pull details from the classic button-down oxford shirt, cricket stripes mix with outdoor prints, and oversized skater jeans meet Peka Trek hiking style boots. Turned around, flipped upside down and reinvented, Moncler x Palm Angels is a surprising yet familiar take on preppy, one that is imbued with a distinctly Californian relaxedness. Inspired, LN-CC captures Moncler x Palm Angels in idiosyncratic layers that leap and tumble through the air; a buoyant homage to The Art ofLightness in all its free-spirited effervescence.
