[Emotional] Especial 'The Unknown Cases - Masimbabele'15' Vinyl - Bayou Blue Edition

In Summer 2015, [Emotional] Especial rereleased Masimbabele by The Unknown Cases with new remixes from NYCs’ Justin Van Der Volgen and Dusseldorf’s The Durian Brothers. First championed by the likes of Danielle Baldelli and Beppe Loda during Italy’s afro-cosmic heyday, Masimbabele has gone on to become a staple of DJ’s all over the world. Remixed in 1989 by On-U Sounds Adrian Sherwood, the 2015 updates were a chance to bring the song right up-to-date, highlighting it’s post-Krautrock inspired drum heavy and afro-vocal scat interplay, but also to do justice the memories of founder Stefan Kratchen and vocalist Reebop Kwaku Baah who sadly passed away in recent years. When asked for B.B.F to contribute something to their worthy cause, Especial was delighted to help and 5 Limited Edition white label copies have been hand screen printed by label head, Chuggy and graffiti artist, Attai Press especially for sale today.

[Emotional] Especial is the 3rd label in the “Emotional' mini-empire run by Stuart (Chuggy) Leath. Initially started as a sub-label to the more expansive and experimental parent Emotional Response, Especial is squarely aimed at the dancefloor, but with an goal to be more than just another trendy Nu-disco, House or even Techno label, moving beyond those genres to also take in the (80s proto) sounds of New Wave, Synth Pop, Industrial and even World music, to offer a more eclectic dancefloor experience.
