CHEZ DE MILO

KNOWN FOR HIS HYPNOTIC, GENRE-BLURRING SETS THAT DRIFT BETWEEN PSYCHEDELIC HOUSE, BALEARIC ODDITIES AND DUBBY, CHUGGING GROOVES.

How does Love International stand out from other festivals you have played, both musically and atmospherically?

What really sets Love International apart is the family atmosphere. It is palpable and completely infectious. Whether it is someone’s first time or they have been coming for years, everyone just seems to get it. It is easy to turn up with 20 friends and leave with 200. It is full of moments of pure bliss and moments of pure ecstasy.

What defines the spirit of Love International for you, and how did you aim to reflect that in your LN-CC Store Mix?

For me, the spirit of Love International is all about connection. Through music, through community, through those in-between moments that end up meaning the most. There is a freedom and openness that runs through the whole thing. I wanted to reflect that feeling in the LN-CC mix. I did not go too deep into the peak time dance floor business, not the kind of stuff I have packed to close Barbarella’s this year, because I wanted it to translate to a retail setting also. But it is still a blend of styles that speaks to the different corners of Love International for sure.

How do you see your musical identity aligning with LN-CC’s wider approach to culture and style?

I have always been into menswear. I actually worked in the industry for many years before music became the main focus. So LN-CC has always stood out to me as a space that takes fashion, music and culture seriously, but still knows how to keep things interesting and a bit unexpected. That is something I try to bring into what I do as a DJ too. That balance really resonates with how I approach things.

DAVE HARVEY B2B ELLIE STOKES

TWO DISTINCT STYLES COLLIDE IN A DYNAMIC BACK-TO-BACK MIX, BLENDING HIGH ENERGY AND SEAMLESS FLOW FOR A UNIQUE SONIC JOURNEY.

How would you describe your ideal festival atmosphere, and in what ways does Love International reflect or inspire that environment?

Dave: I think eclecticism is probably what defines Love Int, and we tried to capture that with this mix. We are open 24 hours a day, so we have a full spectrum of sounds and vibes—from the Balearic end of things (it’s probably about time we rebrand this to Adriatic at this point!) at our sunrise sessions to full hammer techno. This year we had everything from the likes of Smith & Mighty, Mad Professor and DDWY all the way through Soichi Terada, DJ Milo, and Prosumer to Shanti Celeste, Aurora Halal, Ben UFO and Sherelle… pretty varied business.

How do you see your musical identity aligning with LN-CC’s wider approach to culture and style?

Ellie: Forward thinking, eclectic, non-conformist are all things that come to mind when thinking about both my musical identity and LN-CC.

Both LN-CC and Love International are known for thoughtful curation. How do you personally approach curating sound?

Dave: I love how we get to approach the curation of the festival as a team. I did it solo for years, and it’s a joy to now share the process of sketching things out alongside Chez and Ellie. We all push each other in different directions, so it works well. We’re always coming from the mindset of who will work well in what setting: the beach has a vibe, the olive grove has a feeling, who’s going to fit that best and provide the right sounds for those incredible backdrops.

LUCAS WIGFLEX

A STORE MIX CHARGED WITH SHARP INSIGHTS ON CHAOS, BOUNDARY-PUSHING, AND A SOUND THAT NEVER STANDS STILL.

What does performing at Love International Festival represent for you as an artist?

Every year, some of my favourite sets are from the people who run and book the festival, a testament to why these people do what they do. The fact that those same people invite me to be part of that special little community is an honour and a huge privilege. I pinch myself whenever I get to soundtrack a sunset onboard some boat in the middle of the Adriatic. Also, some of the Bristol crew I’ve met through going to Love International I now class as family; it’s more than just a gig for me.

Can you recall a defining moment from a past edition that shaped your connection to the festival?

Dropping Mariah Carey’s “Fantasy” at Barbarellas in 2024. Dr Banana and I had been bending it all night long, but as soon as the sun started to rear its sexy but imposing little head, I knew I wanted to switch it up and give us space to bring it down a little for the final stretch.

What defines the spirit of Love International for you, and how did you aim to reflect that in your LN-CC store Mix?

There’s a unique sense of warmth and camaraderie that lingers at Love International. I tried to capture that feeling without playing any dancefloor tackles.
