A DIALOGUE IN MOTION

As part of LN-CC’s fifteenth anniversary celebrations, the London nexus hosted a day-to-night experience in collaboration with Dutch footwear label Referenc and performance innovator Vibram. The event brought together LN-CC’s creative community to explore the connections between craftsmanship, culture, and collective imagination.

The daytime session unfolded within the L8te space, transforming it into a living studio of experimentation. Guests were invited to take part in a tactile workshop centred on Referenc’s latest release, the Fernabee MegaGrip® SP. With guidance from artisans and creative collaborators, attendees reinterpreted the shoe’s blank white silhouette using a curated selection of materials including leather and suede. The result was an atmosphere that felt both reflective and forward-facing, echoing the shared philosophy of both brands: to celebrate the act of making as an extension of thought and identity. Each customised piece became an individual narrative, grounded in materiality yet elevated by imagination.

Referenc, based in Rotterdam, continues to build on a dialogue between craftsmanship, memory, and performance. The Fernabee MegaGrip® SP represents this sensibility with quiet precision. The shoe’s upper reimagines classic moc-toe construction through modern proportion and texture, while its dual-branded Vibram MegaGrip® outsole provides comfort, adaptability, and durability across shifting environments. Familiar yet distinctly new, the Fernabee embodies the evolving language of contemporary design.

As day turned to night, LN-CC’s L8te space transformed once more, this time into the backdrop for a signature LN-CC celebration. The evening welcomed a takeover by Amsterdam’s Slapfunk Records, whose collaboration with Referenc on a limited-edition shoe further underscored the synergy between sound and style. Sets from Isaac Carter, Jack Ling, PACH., Pokuman, and Samuel Deep filled the room, carrying the energy of community.

Rooted in LN-CC’s ‘We Love You’ anniversary homage, the event reaffirmed a guiding idea: that creativity is most powerful when shared. From the quiet concentration of the workshop to the pulse of the dance floor, the collaboration reflected a continuum, where craft meets culture, and where imagination moves freely between hands, hearts, and sound.
