Before launching Noma t.d. in 2005, buyer and director Takuma Sasaki, travelled extensively in search of talented young designers for several select stores and his own boutique in Tokyo, while textile designer Masako Noguchi graduated from Musashino Art University in Tokyo before studying at Chelsea College of Art and producing textiles for numerous brands in New York. The pair founded Noma t.d. to combine their talents, experience, and knowledge of design. With a focus on low-impact materials and handcrafted design, NOMA t.d. produces a range of textiles by utilising handcrafted graphics. By implementing traditional techniques and artisan skills, NOMA t.d. blends traditional into contemporary.
