An alternative to the norm of beauty emerges with the latest offering from Nike’s First Sight collection – the Mirage. Drawing its inspiration from footwear built for the pitch, the model looks to explore the complexities of femininity through the lens of athleticism. The result of experimentation, traditional femininity in design is eschewed in favour of something that brings touches of athletic endurance into frame. Uniting design elements of an American Football boot with an upper that takes notes from a classic dress shoe, this off-pitch cleat is for those without boundaries in fashion. Ready for wear in the city, comfort comes from innovation through its 3D-sculpted TPU foam-filled spikes, complete with an overlay homage to the abrasive build-up in a match, imbuing the style with a narrative tied to Nike’s own DNA. 

Amongst selects from LN-CC, including pieces by Jean Paul Gaultier, Max Mara, and Jacquemus, the design considerations behind the Mirage are evident, for it sits within the world of performance and a sense of refined futurism with ease.
