AN ODE TO SKIN AND FREEDOM

SPORTMAX LAYS BARE FOR AUTUMN / WINTER 23

Iconic, elevated and refined, Sportmax’s highly anticipated Autumn / Winter 2023 collection is an invitation to strip back, peel off, lay bare and reveal the essence of who you are. It's a call to nature at once pure and wild, where androgyny is the absolute expression of freedom. The collection acknowledges the inherent complexity of being oneself and the way humans use fashion as both camouflage and armour. It encompasses the freedom to choose whether you wish to play out the conventions or break the mould.

Entitled BARE, Sportmax's Autumn / Winter 23 collection unleashes a cohort of garments designed to reveal while covering. It’s SKIN. ALL SKINS. SKIN AS SECOND SKIN theme is portrayed through bold layering and sheer transparent silhouettes that enliven the body in a continuous game of contrasts between bourgeois elegance, primitive chic and glam androgyny. The collection's palette runs an extensive spectrum from neutral skin tones - beiges and camels - to browns – grey and charcoal. These refined hues are complemented by an unexpected mix of metal and botanical accents, emphasising themes of natural beauty and the celebration of skin.

Since its creation in 1969, Sportmax has continued to focus on culture and trends through a unique vision of diverse talent joining together over the years. LN-CC’s in-house creative team brings a refreshing interpretation to the forefront, imbued with an authentic voice and freeing Londoner spirit. In honour of Sportmax’s fifth decade, photographer Mos Regard captures a compelling vision of contemporary femininity through an experimental lens. A neo-rapunzel model stands against neutral backdrops and through the experimentation of lighting, shadow, hair and textures, each garment’s unique characteristics are showcased. The result is an embodiment of timeless luxury, an ode to skin and freedom, and the celebration of self.
