DRIES VAN NOTEN: A STUDY OF THE NATURAL WORLD 

Imbued with a visceral richness of romance and intimacy, Dries Van Noten’s Autumn/Winter ‘23 is an ode to a bygone era – journeying from an appreciation of flora and fauna to the celebration of freedom, rave culture, self-expression and connection. 

Elements of the past inform a new future, antique fabrications are revisited afresh and historical elements are brought into the contemporary sphere. A reinvigoration of tailoring and silhouette, Dries Van Noten’s contemporary approach is celebrated by a meticulously crafted collection of suits and coats using wools from English mills, alongside sharp tailoring and lean shapes that contrast refined embroidery and French lace — each piece is kissed with a special detail. 

Paying homage to the natural environment and our incredible connection to it, each other and the clothes we wear, LN-CC captures friend and musician Xiaoqiao’s own intimate experience and tender moments. Inspired by the experimental Belgian musicians Lander & Adriaan, who crafted an original composition for the Dries Van Noten menswear Autumn/Winter ‘23 show, Xiaoqiao performs the harp to a male companion — both wearing LN-CC’s curated Dries Van Noten buy of Menswear and Womenswear for the season. A rich colour palette of lilac, purple and khaki tones match the collection, conjuring a dreamy ambiance and an old-school romanticism.
