Moncler Genius is a creative hub of design collaborations that produce capsule collections inspired by the iconic Moncler heritage and values. Its vision is to promote energy that comes from a hybrid of different cultures, beyond the borders of season, age and taste.

Each designer offers a personal point of view on the Moncler product and the values it stands for; authenticity, function and performance.

JW Anderson brings his non-binary elegance to the Moncler Genius Project. Inflating pieces form the JW Anderson archive alongside Moncler puffer coats emblazoned with polka-dots and stud embellishments. In a statement the Northern Irish designer explains his vision for the collaboration, “The technicality and straightforwardness of Moncler are fascinating to me. A down jacket needs to respond to a function, and I kept that in mind adding my own taste for blunt abstraction”.

Matthew Williams demonstrates his genius one again as 1017 ALYX 9SM injects its own take into Moncler’s principles of luxury, fusing the identities of both brands for 6 Moncler 1017 ALYX 9SM.

Streetwear leader Francesco Ragazzi designed 8 Moncler Palm Angels for the next instalment of MONCLER GENIUS. Francesco Ragazzi is a provocateur. As a designer and communicator, he knows how to ignite an emotion. Silhouettes are oversized with dynamic shapes featuring laminated surfaces — a dramatic approach referencing youth and rebellion.

2 MONCLER 1952

This season Moncler introduce 1952 as one of the collaborators bringing a new identity to the brand as part of the Moncler Genius Project. Sergio Zambon keeps reworking the heritage of Moncler as a symbol rooted in youth culture. He imbued a pop spirit with a relaxed attitude, keeping strong technical features, the mix of muted colours and laminated touches offers a contemporary perspective. This season features the Awake NY capsule collection, reinterpreting luxury streetwear.

As part of this season’s Moncler Genius project, Moncler introduce 7 Moncler Fragment in collaboration with globally influential Japanese streetwear designer Hiroshi Fujiwara. Fujiwara is credited with popularising the genre of hip hop in Japan following a visit to New York in the 1980’s; having taken American records back to Tokyo, he became one of Japan’s first hip hop DJs.

Introducing Moncler Craig Green as part of the Moncler Genius project, exploring the dialogue between clothing, body and space. Craig Green’s accolades include British Menswear Designer at the Fashion Awards 2016, 2017 & 2018. Menswear Guest Designer at Pitti Uomo 94 in 2018, the BFC/GQ Designer Menswear Fund prize 2016 and Emerging Menswear Designer at the British Fashion Awards 2014. The London-born menswear designer established his namesake label in 2012 shortly after graduating from MA Fashion at Central Saint Martins. Craig Green is recognised as one of London’s most innovative talents. “It’s exciting to be part of the 3rd edition of the Moncler Genius project and to continue our partnership, building on what we have already created together and pushing these ideas further. Moncler has a strong heritage but still embraces change. They encourage an experimental approach and are not afraid of taking risks, which makes them a great collaborative partner and what I believe is unique about the Moncler Genius project” – Craig Green
